So you've gotten a bong. Now you need the part to make your new favorite piece work! A glass bowl is an important part of every dry herb bong setup.
A few things to consider:
- Bowl size: How much loose leaf tobacco or dry herbs can it fit?
- Style: Does it make your heart sing when you see it?
- Joint Size: Does it fit on your bong? Most bowls have a male joint and fit in either a 10mm, 14.5mm, or 18.8mm female joint.
People commonly shop for bowls by selecting the possible options based on the joint size of the piece they are shopping for. From there, finding a bowl that matches your preference in terms of bowl size and style.
Why does the bowl size matter?
It's an issue of physics—really. The bigger the depth of the bowl, the more herbs there are to burn. The deeper the bowl, the hotter the flame if the bowl stays lit will be—density of the material packed matters as well.
In our opinion, a well-designed bowl should be simple, of medium depth, and curved ever so slightly inwards on the rim to better retain heat.
